I found out that I got picked for a new job. I will be returning to Huntsville, AL where I lived from 1988-1991. Almost 20 years since I lived there. Although I have been back many times. I will still be working for MSFC but I won’t be on the Space Shuttle Main Engine project or even within the Space Shuttle group. I will be in the Ares Upper Stage Project Office. I will be the Assistant Manager for the Upper Stage Manufacturing and Assembly. This will be a great opportunity for me and I look forward to the new adventure. Now we have to find a house and move up. I should be starting in February and Michele will follow once I close on a house.

So Tiki had to go in for Surgery March 12th for Bladder Stones. She had been having trouble peeing. No that she was having trouble really, she just would pee and then try and go again 3 or 5 more times. So we took her in and the vet did a ultrasound and found the stones. At first she said there were at least 12 stones. Tiki went in for the surgery the next day. In the end the vet found 25 stones. It’s hard to believe there were that many stone in her little bladder. No reason she was having problems.
But Tiki came through just fine and she is doing well now. Unfortunately she will have to be on a prescription diet forever. No more random treats for her. Below is a picture of the stones that were taken out of her.

After much discussion we have settled on a date for the wedding.
March 13, 2009
So you ask how did we arrive at the date. Well, Michele moved down on March 13th, 2004. We got engaged on January 13th. And after looking closely at her ring she counted the diamonds and there are 13 of them. So, we decided that 13 is the number so it was a matter of looking for a Saturday the 13th. Turns out there aren’t many good Saturday the 13th’s that we liked because of potential weather concerns. Since we are planning on getting married at the beach here in Cape Canaveral we need to make sure the weather will be nice. So we looked at Sundays and Fridays. March is a good month for weather here in Florida so that’s what we settled on. And yes, that is a Friday the 13th. Michele loves scary movies so that just makes that day even more special. So everyone, put that date on your calendar and plan on joining us on the beach about 4:00 for the celebration.

Well after many years of dating and living together Michele and I are finally engaged to be married. No date yet but everyone keeps asking about the ring. So here is a picture of it. I actually took quite a few, but I never realized how hard it is to get a good picture of a diamond. Michele didn’t want one huge rock but rather wanted something with many smaller diamonds. She fell in love with this one. It has a total of 1.5 carats in all the diamonds but I don’t know how big the individual ones are.

KSC finally had a family day again. Ever since the 9/11 attacks security problems kept KSC from allowing family’s on base. Now those problems have been worked out. I got to bring Michele on base and show her where I work at and other sites. I also invited Paul Boag, Jeremy Keith, and Andy Budd. They all happened to be in town for a web design conference in Orlando and I thought it’d be neat to invite them out. We all had a wonderful time!
You can check out Paul’s Podcast at Boagworld. In particular listen to episode 58.
Also Jeremy and Andy posted pics on Flickr.
Andy’s Flicker pics and Jeremy’s Flickr pics
So check them out and check out Michele’s pictures too.
