I chose to mount my maglight on the Drivers side door. Others have mounted it in other places including the drivers and passenger side of the sneter console, next to the gear shift. And others have mounted one in the rear for easy access once the back door is open.

My reasons for mounting on the door if for addtional safety. If, for some reason someone attacks me I can have have easy access to a weapon either by reaching through an open window or if they attack when I enter my vehicle I have the Maglight very handy. I certainly hope to never have to use it for that reason but it's nice to have just in case. It doesn't interfer with entry or exit for the driver so for now it seems to work.

I carefully determined where to mount the clips and just used the self tapping screws that came with the clips. So far I haven't had any problems with them pulling out when removing the light. If that should ever happen there is enough room inside the door to add a small plate to help distribute the forces when pulling it off. Another important thing to think about is the handle to open the hood. Make sure the Mag light is far enough back on the door so that it doesn't interfere with the handlewhen closing the door.
